A new coffee shop has sprung up in Parkwood, Johannesburg. Morning Glory is a cozy nook on the vibrant, robust Park Corner at Bolton and Jan Smuts in Parkwood, next door to Saigon Suzy. The coffee is great and refreshingly affordable – with a Cappuccino going for less than R30. Hardly heard of within that 5km radius. The interior is designed simply, is alive with arches, succulents and pastel colours. The personable crew behind the brew keep a great soundtrack – when we were there, it was grimy, nostalgic R&B that is the antithesis of sleepy, predictable Sunday afternoon traditional fair. Our visit was early, in the week before they launched their menu, so we will have to return to try out all the diverse breakfasts, hearty sandwiches and fresh salads now on offer.
